Post Partum Female Sterilization: Breaking Barriers...- Agra

Shakil Ahmad & Jasmin have been married for 8 years and have two children. They used condoms for spacing their second child. After their second child, a daughter they opted for female sterilization. They learnt about female sterilization from the Peer Educator, when Jasmin was pregnant with their second child and adopted it soon after the delivery. Shakil says that a lot of people believe that sterilization is not permissible in Islam, but he has taken this radical decision as he wants to set a precedent and adopt a progressive approach.
