August 16, 2010 - UHI Meets with Government Officials in Gorakhpur to Revitalize the District Hospital’s Post-Partum Center

UHI staff, including Director, Dr. Gita Pillai, met with Government officials in Gorakhpur on August 16, 2010 to prepare a strategy for revitalizing the Post-Partum Center (PPC) in the District Hospital. The Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS), Dr. Kusum Dubey, expressed the need for more staff to get the PPC fully functioning again. UHI offered support for three staff, including a doctor for the PPC, a staff nurse, and a counselor. Other details for the PPC, such as staff recruitment, salaries, and supplies were discussed and agreed upon.
